L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Mousse Review (Before & After)

Hey, guys!

So, today I am going to be reviewing the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Mousse. Here is the reason why I purchased this in the first place! My lovely family is all in Mexico at the moment (While I am stuck at home) and I knew that they would be coming home with amazing tans and I didn't want to be left out haha! So, I went to walmart last night in hopes of purchasing the Jergens mousse, however, I couldn't find it anywhere but did stumble upon this! The only downside to purchasing that was that I did not read any reviews before buying it.

First, let me start off by saying I followed all self-tanning guides before doing this! I showered, exfoliated, shaved and moisturized the same day as applying the self-tanner.

So, there is the results that I received from one application on just my legs. I applied the self-tanner at around midnight, went to bed, and this is what I have woken up with.
I do notice a very slight difference. What I am most pleased with is the fact that I don't really feel like there is too much of an orange tinge to it, it looks pretty natural!

Here are some of the pros and cons about this product:
Pros:
  • Doesn't have a funky self-tanner smell
  • It has a built in colour guard so you can tell where you are applying the product and where you need to rub it in a little better to make it streak free
  • Doesn't turn out too orange
  • Dries quickly

Cons:
  • The pump completely broke after two pumps!! This is the reason as to why I only applied it to my legs because the bottle was such a mess after the pump broke. Every time I pumped the product up, it would spray everywhere and the 'mousse' disappeared. It was only pumping up liquid.

Because the pump broke, I am extremely hesitant to put it on the rest of my body. If I do go about putting it on the rest of my body I will basically be pouring bronze liquid into my hand from the bottle, and applying it to my body which will be extremely messy. So, I might try the rest of my body on a day when I know I don't need to be anywhere special the following days.

That is my experience using this self-tanner! I would love to know if any of you guys have used this product and the same thing happened to your bottle, or was my bottle just a dud?!

Love,

My Colourpop Shipping Experience

Hi Readers!

It has been quite a while since I have written a blog post! I was so busy finishing University, I just couldn't find the time to write a post, as well as the fact that I hadn't really been purchasing anything new or exciting enough to share.

However, I decided to award myself with some new makeup for finishing off a great semester! I had been seeing a lot of talk about Colourpop cosmetics and was super intrigued by their stuff. I decided to place an order of 5 eyeshadows, a blush, and a lippie stick. I decided to order the Lumière lippistick (Because I love kathleenlights!), the blush 'get leid' because it is a really nice spring/summer time colour, and 5 eyeshadows: la la, hanky panky, tea party, sequin, and desert.

Before ordering from colourpop, I didn't even think to research how their shipping is, and assumed that they would arrive fine, as I've never had any previous issues with shipping cosmetics. And may I just add, that this is in no way bashing of colourpop cosmetics, because it isn't their fault! However, I just want to share my experience.

When I received my package I was so excited to open them and get right to my vanity to try them out, except, when I opened the box this is what i saw (insert face of horror after waiting for it's arrival impatiently for almost 2 weeks!)

Three of the eyeshadows that I had ordered came crumbled and damaged during the shipping process. When I first saw this I was kinda annoyed, but because of the texture of the shadows, and their almost whipped like feeling, I was able to mould them back into place pretty well. Thankfully only three out of the 7 items that I ordered came damaged, and not all!
I went onto the colourpop cosmetics website and did see that they had a section dedicated to what to do if your order comes to you damaged. Rather than colourpop sending you new items for the damaged ones, they want you to return the damaged product in the exact way that it was shipped to you, and they will send you the same product again. I was just too eager to play with these bad boys that I didn't want to have to wait another two weeks, especially since I am from Canada, and i'm not too sure how long it would take to get to California, and then back to Canada.

BUT, this being said, once I moulded the product back together, it still does its job! The shadows are soo richly pigmented, smooth, creamy and blendable! I am absolutely in love with every colour I received and I am having so much fun playing around with the colours! So, if your colourpop products come damaged and you don't feel like sending them back, have no fear! All you have to do is carefully press down until all of the product is touching the sides, and then smooth over the top and it will look almost brand new (besides the cute embossment on top of the shadows, but oh well!)

How cute is the packaging?!

So, there you have it! That is my experience with colourpop cosmetics, and although some did come damaged, I would still order from them again because I truly do believe that the product is amazing and worth the risk!

Love,
