Urban Decay Naked $25 dupe!!

Hey Guys!

I have a quick blog post today because I JUST found something super excited in the flyer... a $25 dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette !!

If you're Canadian then you probably have a Shoppers Drug mart near you and know of the brand QUO

It's called Back to Basics Eye Shadow and Applicator and retails for $25

The colours and the layout is an exact dupe for the naked palette and I think $25 is much more reasonable than $60 for the exact same shades!!

I can't wait to check it out

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter - Cotton Candy, Peach Parfait, Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie

Hey, Everybody!

Today I have a review & swatches of Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters. I have them in 4 shades { Cotton Candy, Peach Parfait, Berry Smoothie, and Sugar Plum }

From left to right: Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie, Peach Parfait, Cotton Candy

This week shoppers drug mart had them on sale, B1G1 Free so I decided to pick up a few and give them a try, and I am super glad I did, their great!!

They have the consistency of a tinted lip balm but they are very pigmented, and very hydrating as well.

Cotton Candy

Peach Parfait

Berry Smoothie

Sugar Plum

Here are a swatches of all 4 of them on my lips

The Balm cosmetics: Nude 'Tude Palette & Schwing black liquid eyeliner

Hey, Everybody!

I hope everybody is having a great week! I know I am.. I had my last midterm before the reading break AND i received 2 packages that i've been waiting on (1 more to come!!) an Elf package and my Hautelook package!

I'm sure a lot of you already know that about a month ago The Balm was on Hautelook and I just could not resist. I had heard such great things about the Nude 'Tude palette that I had to give it a try.

first off I have to say they are SO pigmented!! I swatched all on my arm about 30 minutes ago and they won't budge, even if I try to wipe them off with my finger.

Schwing liquid eyeliner & the Nude 'Tude palette

Isn't the packaging so cute?
This liner is very, very pigmented but did take some time to dry

'sassy' is a perfect highlight colour for under your brow bone and although 'selfish' looks very dark in the photo it would work great as an every day colour

the colour 'serious' is such a richly pigmented black that it looks exactly like a pencil eyeliner when applied to your lash line

Prices:
  • Nude 'Tude palette - $36 (originally) I paid only $18 on Hautelook
  • Schwing black liquid eyeliner - $17 (originally)  I only paid $8
Overall, I would definitely recommend both of these products, two thumbs up from me!

Sigma Haul!!

I am so so so so so excited because my SIGMA products came!!! (as you can see from the title)

For the past few months i've been dreamingly visiting sigma's website and putting all of the things that I would love to have into the cart,  and constantly watching videos of Youtube guru's ranting about how great they are so last week I said, "what the heck, why not?!" and went for it. I bought two brushes; the F80 flat top kabuki brush, and the F40 large angled contour brush. And just let me say this.... I am never turning back! Both brushes are so incredibly soft, feel very durable, and look extremely professional.

Before I ever used this brush to apply my Maybelline dream smooth mousse foundation I thought the foundation just wasn't too great, until I used the F80, it was like I was using a totally different foundation than ever before. The look that you get after using this brush is such a flawless and airbrushed look, it's unbelievable.
The F40 is absolutely amazing for both contouring and applying blush, it is just the right size to fit into the arch of your cheek to contour, and the perfect size to apply your blush

When you spend $30 or more on their website you get a free gift with your purchase. My free gift was a cute little eye shadow from their Dare palette in the shade Grasp. The colour pay off is great and it's very blend able and feels really creamy

If anybody is thinking about buying Sigma brushes I would definitely suggest you do it because you will NOT be disappointed!

Which should I choose?

So guys.... I need your help!

I've decided to hop on the "cosmetic sample box" band wagon, but I can't decide which one I want to subscribe to more. I love the idea that you pay a monthly fee and receive high end samples (and sometimes full size products!!) from cosmetics to hair care to fragrances and body products for a fairly small fee.

Here are the four wonderful options:

1. Topbox  - $10/month

2. GlossyBox   - $15/month

3. Glymm  - $12/month

4. Loose Button -  $12/month

Each of them is very unique and i'd love each of them but I can't decide!!

What do you guys think? Do any of you have any subscriptions to any of these?

Love,

19th Birthday Haul!

Hello Everyone!

So a few weeks ago it was my 19th birthday (yaay) and I had a really great time and got a lot of very nice gifts!
This year for my birthday I really only had 2 things on my wish list: crochet Toms and a Coach cross body bag (to match my cute little wristlet) and well... I got them!!

I loooove my Toms! If you're willing to pitch in a few extra dollars for the crochet ones, I suggest you do it! They are very comfortable and go with everything, however, in the beginning they do take some time to get used to the scratchy feeling but after a while it completely goes away!

I also got two very lovely gifts from my sweet boyfriend! A pair of Swarovski earrings which are BEAUTIFUL! and a cute little pair of Disney pyjamas from La Vie En Rose that i've been eyeing since Christmas but they were $69 and was not willing to fork down that much money on pjs but since then they've of course gone on sale, and they were now only $24

Daily makeup routine (mainly E.L.F products)

Hello, My lovely readers!

I am a HUGE fan of discounted (but great quality) makeup! A few months ago I stumbled across the brand E.L.F while watching some youtube makeup videos. If any of you guys don't know what E.L.F is it stands for eyes lips face and they have three different lines - the Studio Line ($3), the Mineral Line (mostly $5) and their essential line ($1). I do enjoy a few of the products from their essential line but for the most part I prefere their studio line. A few months ago I made a few purchases and now it's basically all that I use!

I don't wear foundation on a regular basis but I thought for the sake of this post I would write about what I use/how I do my foundation

Face
Step 1: Moisturizer

The most important part about wearing foundation/ about having healthy looking skin is moisturizer!!
When I don't wear moisturizer with my foundation I feel like my skin is really dry and makes it flake! The moisturizer that I have been using lately is my Neutrogena moisturizer for Sensitive Skin. I got it when it was on sale for $14.99 (sort of expensive for me but it was well worth it) it sinks into your skin really well and leaves your face feeling moisturized all day. I sometimes use it before bed as well

Step 2: Face Primer

In order for your foundation to last a really long time you have to use a primer underneath. I use my E.L.F mineral infused face primer when I want my foundation to last all day.
This primer feels very silicony (is that a word?) but however it does blend in nicely. I'm kind of on the fence with this product, it is a great primer (in that it makes your foundation last) but it feels very oily on my skin which isn't a great feeling!

Step 3: Foundation

For foundation I use Maybelline Fit Me in shade 120 classic ivory. I really like this foundation because it blends very easily and is a perfect match to my skin tone annnd it has SPF 18 in it! and I also got it when it was on sale for $7.00 :)

Step 3: Bronzer & Blush

For my bronzer I use E.L.F warm bronzer, and for my blush I use E.L.F blush in tickled pink. both products i loooooove!
The warm bronzer gives you just a tad glow without looking like your face is orange and the blush gives you that perfect touch of colour to your cheeks! Both are $3 on the E.L.F website but there are always deals going on (i scored both for $1.50 each when they were having 50% off the Studio Line)
Colour on the left of my hand: all of the bronzer colours swirled together
Colour on the right of my hand: Tickled pink blush

Eyes

Step 1: Primer

Instead of spending $18 on Urban Decay Primer Potion, buy E.L.F eye lid primer for $1 and it works GREAT!! My eye shadow stays on ALL day, and my cream eye liner doesn't smudge at all (i've tried wearing it before without the primer and it smudged half way up my eye lid)

Step 2: Eye shadow

I use my 32 piece eye shadow palette from E.L.F in warm. I LOVE all of these colours so much (mainly because I use neutral colours and not really into wearing colours like blue and purple on my eyes) For $5 you get 32 different eye shadows with great colour pay off and quite a bit of product per colour.
I use my E.L.F eye shadow C brush to pack on a light colour all over my eye lid, and then use my E.L.F contour brush to put on a darker brown into my crease

Step 3: Eye liner

After using E.L.F cream eye liner, i will never go back to a pencil! this eye liner stays all day long and doesn't smudge at all after it has dried! I've been using it every single day for 4 months and still have a lot of product left in the pot. For $3 dollars, it can't get any better!

Step 4: Mascara

First I curl my eye lashes with my QUO eyelash curler and then use two different mascaras: Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express (New) and Maybelline Colossal Volume Express (been using this mascara for about 2 years)
Both of these mascaras paired together look great and give my lashes great length
